Wesak Day 2016 in Singapore

22:42

I am so glad that I am able to witness this spectacular Wesak scene in Singapore. It is held at Aljunied MRT. The location is very strategic thus the place is crowded on the day. Buddhists tend to come over to celebrate the festival.
Do you know where does 'Wesak' come from? It comes from the name of a month in the Indian calendar. Wesak Day is one of the most crucial festivals in the Buddhist calendar as it remembers three important events in Gautama's life, namely his birthday, his enlightenment and his passing away.
Buddhists are having the candlelight processions through the street.
It is so beautiful when Buddhists lighten the candles and passing through the street at night.
